Prophesee Names Industry Veteran Etienne Knauer to Lead Industrial and Emerging Markets Business Unit
PARIS – January 5, 2024 – Prophesee, the inventor of the world’s most advanced neuromorphic vision systems, today announced that Etienne Knauer will lead the company’s business unit focused on industrial and emerging markets. Knauer is a seasoned industry professional with extensive expertise in overseeing Sales, Marketing, Business development initiatives across various sectors, including consumer electronics, security and automotive markets. He has successfully established strategic partnerships with key players in the industry and played a pivotal role in nurturing technology-driven businesses from inception to achieving multi-million-dollar sales revenues. In the past year, Knauer has been working as a consultant to Prophesee, advising the company on several strategic projects.
The industrial market has been a core foundational business for Prophesee, with a wide range of successful commercial adoptions of its Event-based Metavision® solutions by machine vision suppliers and users in factory automation, logistics, packaging, inspection, medical and scientific research, and other areas. The recent launch of its GenX320 sensor and accompanying software and development tools opens up new opportunities in Consumer Electronics, IoT, AV/VR, security and automotive markets thanks to its advantages in size, power and dynamic range.

Before joining, Knauer served as the Chief Business Officer at DXOMARK, where he led initiatives in business development, forged strategic partnerships, and led marketing and communications efforts. His focus was on cultivating and expanding relationships with global technology leaders in high-tech industries. Prior to that, he served as SVP Sales and Marketing at DxO Labs, concentrating on licensing imaging IP to the mobile industry. His journey includes diverse experiences as project director in computer vision and medical imaging. Knauer holds a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics, from INSA Rouen.
